ABOUT BURLINGAME LABS
Thank you for your interest in Burlingame Pointing Labrador Retrievers located in Genoa, Illinois. We are a small kennel located in northern Illinois about 60 miles west of Chicago. My name is Todd Bex, my wife Debbie and I have been breeding Labradors for field and family for over 35 years. We purchased our first yellow female Labrador retrievers in 1983. It was at that time we decided to start breeding and raising Labradors.
We started running our dogs in obedience trials through our local Labrador club then progressed to the show ring and pheasant championships in Iowa and Wisconsin. We took a break from the show ring and field circuit to raise our two children. Our children were the greatest assets in socializing our pups. I continued hunting our dogs for pleasure without the focus on hunt tests. We continued our breeding program with our females with field trial and AKC hunt test sires.
Our two children are grown and now we have the pleasure of exposing our 4 grandchildren to the joy of raising Labradors. With that said, I have returned to the HRC hunt circuit and love watching our dogs perform.
The kennel currently has 3 HR titled dogs two of which also have APR titles and 1 SHR title. All Burlingame dogs are AKC and UKC registered with all health clearances necessary to be included in our breeding program. All pups sold through our breeding program are also dual registered.
I use all our dogs to guide upland hunts at Coon Creek Hunt Club in northern Illinois, so not only can our dogs test well but they can also put meat on the table.
All our dogs have a great on/off switch; they turn on the switch in the field and turn it off in our house. Our dogs must be good citizens as well as great in the field. Our philosophy is to have dogs that are highly trainable and can be great family companions.
We will be concentrating our current breeding program on developing a pointing lab line as well as continuing our flushing line for those of you that like the traditional Labrador.
We strive to breed a dog you will be proud to hunt with and pleased to have in your home.

I received these two great awards for the hard work Willow has performed at HRC hunt tests. A big thank you goes out to Dan Irhke and Gun Dog Success for helping us achieve such recognition.
Great having grandma Tutz back to keep the pup Tachi in her place.
2023 Hunt test season has begun with Willow going 4-4 in the upland. Thank you to all who helped and to the judges at Fox River Valley.
